Five Year Anniversary (August 7, 2016)

It is hard to comprehend that it has been five years since Brent was called upon to serve a higher purpose and quest. Some say loss is easier with time; however, it still feels as if it just occurred yesterday.

20140808_090149Our family was deeply touched that Brent’s friends from Texas sent a beautiful bouquet of roses and Easter lilies.

During Brent’s life, he touched the lives and hearts of countless individuals.  It means a lot us that his legacy continues to live on in the memories and hearts of family and friends.

Passing of Aunt Frances (June 7, 2014)

scan0001  94 years old.  Quite a story.  The ‘story’ ended on June 7, 2014.

Frances Marie Bottino (Grandma Tre’s sister) passed away after a few months of suffering numerous small strokes.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home.

Her life was full with family, and her death was without suffering.  That is all, which her loved ones could have hoped for her.

She was a terrific wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, godmother and friend to so many of us friends and family.  Her daughters are abiding by her wishes that her funeral arrangements be kept private.  What they ask if that you think of a special moment that you shared with her – enjoy those personal memories – and send her your love and prayers.

Deep Thoughts

Many people are unaware that exactly one year to the date prior to his passing, Brent was shot during an attempted carjacking. It has plagued our family with many questions and theories since it sounds like something out of a Final Destination movie.

Therese Canale
03/24/1918 – 12/14/2013

Under the loving care of her family, friends and Pathways Hospice, Therese passed away in the early morning of December 14th at 95 years young. For the past 8 years she has been cared for by her devoted “Angel” daughter Susan in San Bruno, CA.

Her parents were Italian immigrants. Therese was born, raised and resided in Nob Hill area of San Francisco for the majority of her life. During her youth, she attended Spring Valley grade school and Commerce High School. Therese remained close until her death with her brother Albert and sisters Francis  and Evelyn (predeceased).

In 1941, she married the love of her life Lawrence Canale, and they raised three children, during their 60+ years of marriage. With her husband, she acted as bookkeeper of their rental apartments. She worked over 25 years for See’s Candies on Polk St., as a Store Manager. Her favorite candy was the dark chocolate with nuts. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels. During her life, which spanned almost a century, she lived through several historical events. Therese was known for being outspoken and with a sharp wit. She had a great memory up until her passing. She was immensely proud of the success of her family. She will be remembered for her big heart and the countless prayers she said for others in their time of crisis.

Therese loved going to her country house in Boyes Hot Spring, Sonoma with her husband every weekend and summers with her children. Her parents met in Sonoma. When she was young she would go to Sonoma with her parents. They would take the ferry, a train and a horse and buggy to their vacation spot. Her mother Olivia was from the large Carlomagno family who had homes in Sonoma.

Therese was predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence (1911-2001), parents, sister Evelyn and grandson Brent Aguilar (1977-2011).
